Artifacts are a crucial part of progression in Summoners War, offering powerful stat boosts and unique effects that can significantly enhance your monsters’ performance. Unlike runes, artifacts provide additional layers of customization through sub-properties that directly impact skills, damage output, and survivability. Understanding how artifacts work and how to optimize them is key to improving both your dungeon runs and overall efficiency. In this guide, we’ll break down everything you need to know to make the most of your artifacts.

Types of Artifacts

Artifacts in Summoners War come in several variants, divided both by their stat focus and the kind of monster they are designed for. They are categorized into Attack, Defense, HP, and Support types, as well as elemental variants including Wind, Fire, Water, Light, and Dark. Choosing the right combination of artifact categories is important, as it allows you to further optimize your monsters based on their role and element.

Atifact Primary Stats

Artifacts in Summoners War have three main primary stats that determine their base value: HP, ATK, and DEF. Each artifact will roll one of these stats as its main stat, directly increasing that stat for the equipped monster. While these stats are important, the real power of artifacts comes from their sub-properties, which provide additional effects and scaling bonuses.

The table below shows the values (upgrade amount) of the three primary main stat options.

Artifact Sub-Property Stats

Artifacts offer a wide variety of sub-properties that provide powerful bonuses beyond the main stat. These sub-stats can enhance specific skills, increase damage under certain conditions, or improve survivability, making them a key part of optimizing your monsters. Understanding which sub-properties to prioritize is essential for maximizing performance in both dungeons and other content.

Below is a table of all sub-properties in the game. Please note that all artifacts come pre-rolled with four rolls and a default sub-property stat.

Upgrading Artifacts

Upgrading artifacts used to work similarly to upgrading runes, but now artifacts come with all their rolls already determined when you acquire them. However, you can still power up artifacts to enhance their effectiveness.

Powering-Up Artifacts

Powering up artifacts allows you to reroll one of their substats. Only one substat can be rerolled, and once a stat has been changed, only that same stat can be modified in future upgrades. Because of this, it’s important to choose carefully when deciding which stat to reroll.

There are two ways to power up an artifact: Normal Conversion and Special Conversion.

Normal Conversion

You can convert one of the four substats into a random new substat until you are satisfied with the result. However, the cost increases with each reroll, even if you end up reverting back to the original substat.

Conclusion

Artifacts play a key role in optimizing your monsters in Summoners War, adding powerful stat boosts and unique effects that can significantly improve performance in both dungeons and other content. By understanding how primary stats, sub-properties, and power-ups work, you can make smarter decisions when building and upgrading your units. With the right artifact choices and proper optimization, you can greatly enhance your damage output, survivability, and overall efficiency, helping you progress faster and more consistently in the game.
