Narrated to us Muhammad ibn Isa, he narrated from Anbasah ibn Abd al-Wahid, from Hisham ibn Urwah, from his father, from Aisha, who said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to perform Siwak, and he had two men with him, one older than the other. It was revealed to him regarding the virtue of Siwak, ‘Say Takbir (i.e., say Allahu Akbar) and give the Siwak to the older one.’ Ahmad ibn Hazm said to us, Abu Sa’id, who is the son of al-A’raabi, said: ‘This is from the unique practices of the people of Madinah.'”
