Narrated to us Yazid ibn Khalid, narrated to us Mufaddal, from Ayyash, that Shuyaim ibn Baytan informed him of this hadith, also from Abu Salim al-Jayshani, from Abdullah ibn Amr, who mentioned it while he was stationed with him as a guard at the fortress of Bab al-Yun. Abu Dawood said: The fortress of Bab al-Yun is on a mountain in al-Fustat. Abu Dawood said: It is Shuyban ibn Umayyah, known as Abu Hudhayfah.
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُفَضَّلٌ، عَنْ عَيَّاشٍ، أَنَّ شُيَيْمَ بْنَ بَيْتَانَ، أَخْبَرَهُ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، أَيْضًا عَنْ أَبِي سَالِمٍ الْجَيْشَانِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، يَذْكُرُ ذَلِكَ وَهُوَ مَعَهُ مُرَابِطٌ بِحِصْنِ بَابِ أَلْيُونَ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ حِصْنُ أَلْيُونَ عَلَى جَبَلٍ بِالْفُسْطَاطِ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَهُوَ شَيْبَانُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ يُكْنَى أَبَا حُذَيْفَةَ .
