Narrated to us Qutaibah ibn Sa’id, from Sufyan, from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A’raj, from Abu Huraira, who reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “If it were not a hardship on my Ummah, I would have commanded them to delay the Isha prayer and to use the Siwak (tooth-stick) at every prayer.”
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، يَرْفَعُهُ قَالَ “ لَوْلاَ أَنْ أَشُقَّ، عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ لأَمَرْتُهُمْ بِتَأْخِيرِ الْعِشَاءِ وَبِالسِّوَاكِ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلاَةٍ ” .
