Narrated to us Muhammad ibn Awf al-Ta’i, Ahmad ibn Khalid narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Habban, from Abdullah ibn Abdullah ibn Umar, who said: “I asked him, ‘What do you think about Ibn Umar’s performing ablution for every prayer, whether he was in a state of purity or not?’ He replied, ‘Asma bint Zaid ibn Al-Khattab informed me that Abdullah ibn Hanzala ibn Abi Amir narrated to her that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was commanded to perform ablution for every prayer, whether in a state of purity or not. When this became difficult for him, he was commanded to use the Siwak for every prayer. Ibn Umar, considering it as a source of strength, never left ablution for every prayer.'” Abu Dawud said: “Ibrahim ibn Saad narrated it from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, Ubaidullah ibn Abdullah narrated it.”
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَوْفٍ الطَّائِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ قُلْتُ أَرَأَيْتَ تَوَضُّؤَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ لِكُلِّ صَلاَةٍ طَاهِرًا وَغَيْرَ طَاهِرٍ عَمَّ ذَاكَ فَقَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِيهِ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَهَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أُمِرَ بِالْوُضُوءِ لِكُلِّ صَلاَةٍ طَاهِرًا وَغَيْرَ طَاهِرٍ فَلَمَّا شَقَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ أُمِرَ بِالسِّوَاكِ لِكُلِّ صَلاَةٍ فَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَرَى أَنَّ بِهِ قُوَّةً فَكَانَ لاَ يَدَعُ الْوُضُوءَ لِكُلِّ صَلاَةٍ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ رَوَاهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ .
