Narrated by Amr bin Khalid, who said: Narrated by Al-Layth, from Yazid, from Abu Al-Khayr, from Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with both of them) that a man asked the Prophet (peace be upon him), “Which aspect of Islam is the best?” He replied, “To give food and to greet with peace those whom you know and those whom you do not know.”
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ أَنَّ رَجُلاً، سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَىُّ الإِسْلاَمِ خَيْرٌ قَالَ “ تُطْعِمُ الطَّعَامَ، وَتَقْرَأُ السَّلاَمَ عَلَى مَنْ عَرَفْتَ وَمَنْ لَمْ تَعْرِفْ ”.
