Narrated by Ahmad ibn Yunus and Musa ibn Isma’il, who reported from Ibrahim ibn Sa’d, from Ibn Shuhba, from Sa’id ibn al-Musayyab, from Abu Huraira, that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was asked, “Which deed is the best?” He replied, “Faith in Allah and His Messenger.” It was asked, “What comes next?” He said, “Jihad in the cause of Allah.” Then, it was asked again, “What is next?” He said, “A well-performed Hajj.”
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، وَمُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم سُئِلَ أَىُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ فَقَالَ ” إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ”. قِيلَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا قَالَ ” الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ”. قِيلَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا قَالَ ” حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ ”.
