Narrated to us Hujjaj ibn Minhal, who said: Shu’bah informed us, he said: Adi ibn Thabit narrated to us, he said: I heard Abdullah ibn Yazid reporting from Abu Mas’ud that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “When a man spends on his family, considering it as a deed of charity on his part, it is a (true) charity for him.”
حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَدِيُّ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ “ إِذَا أَنْفَقَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ يَحْتَسِبُهَا فَهُوَ لَهُ صَدَقَةٌ ”.
