Abu Dawud 25 (Book 1, Hadith 25)

Narrated by Qutaybah ibn Sa’id, who narrated from Isma’il ibn Ja’far, from Al-Ala’ ibn Abdur-Rahman, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “Beware of the two accursed things.” They said, “What are the two accursed things, O Messenger of Allah?” He said, “The one who relieves himself in watering places and in the path of the people or in their shade.”

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏”‏ اتَّقُوا اللاَّعِنَيْنِ ‏”‏ ‏.‏ قَالُوا وَمَا اللاَّعِنَانِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏”‏ الَّذِي يَتَخَلَّى فِي طَرِيقِ النَّاسِ أَوْ ظِلِّهِمْ ‏”‏ ‏.‏
